At this morning’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, I had the pleasure of presenting a proclamation to Vincent Palmieri Jr., a two-time recipient of the purple heart, and the Regional Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Not too long ago, Vincent reached out to my office to inquire about Purple Heart road signage since Clark County has been a Purple
Heart County since 2018, and I’m happy to report that we now have 13 new signs declaring Clark County a Purple Heart County on Clark County roadways. The timing couldn’t have been better as August 7th is also National Purple Heart Day!
Thank you Vince for bringing this to our attention, and I’d also like to give a special thank you to our director of Public Works, Denis Cederburg for his help in making this happen.
