Officer update
Junior Vice Commander Vernon “Mac” Rowell has moved to North Carolina. The Chapter will need to identify a replacement for the Junior Vice Commander position.

250th anniversary flags
The Chapter discussed purchasing commemorative flags for distribution in connection with the Veterans Day Parade. The estimated cost for 500 flags is approximately $200, excluding tax. The flags will be labeled with the Chapter name and a QR code to promote the Chapter and provide information to the public.

Volunteer reporting
A simplified monthly volunteer report form will be distributed to members to make reporting volunteer hours easier.
Military Veterans & First Responders Appreciation Day
The event will be held October 17 at Craig Ranch. Volunteers are needed to help set up the Chapter tent and staff the information table.
National Guard Trunk-or-Treat
The event is scheduled for October 24. The Chapter will participate, and event information will be included on the Chapter website.
November Chapter meeting and barbecue
A barbecue will be held November 7 at the North Las Vegas Veterans Community Resources Center, 3090 East Centennial Parkway, North Las Vegas. The regular Chapter meeting location and arrangements for November will change because of the event and scheduling conflicts.

Veterans Day Parade
The parade will be held November 11. Members will meet on 4th Street, and the Chapter plans to participate with its float. The Chapter will follow up about obtaining a military vehicle and with Nellis Air Force Base about Color Guard participation.
Los Prados Veterans Club golf outing
The golf outing will be held November 15.

VA Hospital Car Show
The car show is scheduled for November 14. Chapter participation was discussed.
Christmas fundraiser and party
The Chapter discussed plans for the December 12 Christmas event. Entertainment auditions will be coordinated by Zoom. A flyer will be prepared, and efforts will be made to obtain food donations and raffle items.
Proceeds will support Chapter programs and assistance for children of deployed National Guard and Reserve members.
Membership and recruiting
The Chapter's Life Membership report and 501(c)(19) status were discussed and confirmed. Members discussed recruiting new members, particularly younger Purple Heart recipients. Recruitment flyers and military outreach materials will continue to be distributed.
Purple Heart awareness
Members discussed increasing public awareness of the Purple Heart and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. The Chapter will continue media outreach, including local television opportunities, community events, recruitment materials, and website updates.
Challenge coins
Several months earlier, the Chapter purchased additional challenge coins and mugs from the Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Nevada. Seven challenge coins remained and were presented to Army Reserve Purple Heart recipients in Sacramento following Operation Epic Fury.

The Chapter discussed participation in a Credit One Bank event honoring Purple Heart recipient James. Arrangements and Chapter participation will be coordinated.
Veterans Day school program
An opportunity for veterans to speak at Doris French Elementary School for Veterans Day was discussed. The Chapter will recruit veterans and volunteers to participate.
